How to get the most from GEODON
You play an essential role in the success of your treatment. Whether you are just
starting GEODON or already taking it, be sure to:
- Take it with meals. Taking GEODON with meals will help it work properly
- Follow your doctor’s instructions
- Take it at the same time every day
- Swallow the capsules whole
- Keep taking GEODON every day, even when you start to feel better because your symptoms
are more likely to return if you stop taking GEODON
- Don’t run out of medicine. Keep track of how many pills you have left. When your
supply is running low, get your next refill from the pharmacy. If you have no refills
left, call your doctor right away to ask if you need to renew your prescription.

Other things you can do to improve your well-being
Talk to your doctor about what you can do to keep moving in the right direction.
Medicine is an essential part of treating a mood disorder. It’s also a good idea
to take steps to improve your overall health and well-being. Download suggestions
(PDF) on how to stay well. These steps don’t replace your medicine.
“My morning routine is to eat breakfast, take my medicine, and meditate. This
helps me start out the day feeling calm.”

Get help for addiction
Addiction to drugs or alcohol is, in itself, a serious mental illness that may require
treatment. Addiction can also make symptoms of your mood disorder seem worse. It
can interfere with how your medicine works in your body. And it can make it more
difficult for you to follow your treatment plan. If you are dealing with addiction
in addition to your mood disorder, reach out to your doctor for help.
